An artist of Queens County. BiographyYvonne was born in PEI, and lived in several Atlantic Canadian provinces. She returned to PEI in the late 1970s and began drawing and painting at an early age. Her first exposure to the arts came from her grandmother, who was an oil painter. Yvonne won an art contest in school in Labrador and illustrated a children's book while attending school in PEI. In the late 1980s, she experimented with various media including charcoal, pen and ink, pastels, watercolour and oil painting. It was in the late 1980s that she became a stained glass artist, and developed her skill over a three year period. In 1994, she graduated as a graphic designer from the Visual Communications course at Holland College. Since 1995, she's been employed as a graphic designer and pre-press technician. In 2005, Yvonne pursued DVD video production. She composes videos using photos, video, audio, transitions and special effects. She also began digitally composing movie scores; mostly instrumental symphonic-based compositions for use in DVD projects. DVDs are produced for various purposes including wedding documentation, preservation of old photos and for commercial promotional purposes. Working in a technical and computer-based field, Yvonne finds balance by continuing to practice the more traditional art of oil painting, and draws inspiration from nature. Landscapes of Prince Edward Island, and nature in general are common themes. Paintings are oil on canvas. Some paintings are in private collections throughout Canada. Yvonne revisited oil painting in 1997 and paints to this day. Education & Training1989-1992: Stained glass artist, self-taught Portfolio
