Image, photo, portrait – How do you capture the essence of a person in two dimensions? Alanna Jankov has dedicated herself to this task for the last 17 years. Alanna’s upbringing in rural Nova Scotia was key in the development of her keen interest in society, people and the dynamic relationship between the two. She uses her photography and genuine interest in people to collect and share their diverse stories. Alanna moved to Prince Edward Island in 1988 to pursue her passion for photography. Following her graduation from the Holland College Photography program, she apprenticed in all aspects of photography before establishing her own studio. Alanna is a well-known portrait photographer in Prince Edward Island with a reputation for herphotojournalistic style and willingness to portray controversial subject matter.
