Biography

Born in York, PEI, Annette Campbell has a Bachelor of Music degree from UPEI and a Master of Arts degree in Musicology from McGill University.  After finishing her studies at McGill, she took the position of Music Program Officer with the Canada Council for the Arts in Ottawa.  In 2003, she returned to the Island to work as the Administrative Coordinator with the Arts Netlantic research project at UPEI.  Annette currently owns and operates a music teaching and arts consulting business called All About Music and is the Administrator for the PEI Symphony Orchestra.

Annette is a mezzo-soprano and plays both the piano and the trumpet.  She has performed with a variety of different groups including the PEI Symphony Orchestra, the Confederation Centre Brass, the Canadian National Youth Band, the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Orpheus Singers, the St. Lawrence Choir, the Bella Voce quartet and local bands Mystery Snail and The Hobbs.  She also played the role of Marg Osborne in a production of Don Messer and the Early Days, appeared in ACT PEI’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar and was the vocal coach for Charlottetown Rural's recent production of Cinderella.  Annette has published articles on Canada’s classical music scene in The Buzz and La Scena Musicale.
