About the PEI Artist Directory
This website, and the database that allows it to function, was created by Darrin White, the Executive Director of the Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts from March 2004 to present.
The site was created as a personal project then was donated by White to the Council as an opportunity for the Council to increase its profile and provide an additional service to the arts community.
Since the sites live release in September 2006 the site has seen over 7,500 visits. Some of the artists listed have had their pages displayed hundreds of times and all pages are searched by the webs most popular search engines.
The site is open to all artists residing on Prince Edward Island. It is free to all but does require that artists opt-in by registering using the online process. For artists who wish to be listed but don’t feel they have the technical savvy to complete the process themselves, Council staff are happy to assist.
The website continues to be an ongoing project for the Council and for White and has seen several overhauls for performance and functionality since its release. If you’d like to make a comment, please feel free to use the “Comments” feature below.
